Wastewater Pretreatment Screen for MBR and Industrial Applications
Brief Description
The NJL perforated plate screen provides mechanical solids separation for wastewater pretreatment systems. It is suitable for municipal and industrial applications where removing screenings before downstream treatment can help reduce the solids load on subsequent process equipment.
Product Overview
Effective pretreatment is an important consideration in wastewater treatment system design, especially when the process includes membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology or other downstream equipment that may be affected by incoming solid debris.

The NJL Internally Fed Perforated Plate Screen uses moving perforated plates to capture and remove solid materials from wastewater. Its internal inlet directs wastewater toward the screening plates on both sides, while the chain-driven mechanism carries retained debris to the upper discharge area.
With a vertical installation arrangement and an integrated flushing system, the equipment can be evaluated for new wastewater treatment facilities and selected screening system upgrades. Final suitability depends on wastewater characteristics, required screening performance, and site conditions.

Working Principle
Wastewater enters through the lower inlet and flows through the perforated plates on both sides of the equipment. Solid debris is retained on the plate surfaces, while screened water passes into the downstream channel.
A motor-driven chain mechanism moves the screening plates upward, transporting retained solids to the upper discharge section. The flushing system removes the collected screenings, which are directed into the collection trough and discharged from the machine.
This mechanical screening process helps remove incoming solid debris before wastewater proceeds to subsequent treatment stages.
