Product Overview
Our In-Channel Fine Screen, also called an Internally Fed Drum Screen, combines high throughput efficiency with a space-saving compact design for modern municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. Optimized for deep channels and space-limited installations, it achieves exceptional removal of fine solids, fibers, and suspended contaminants with low energy consumption. Its reliable fine screening performance offers reliable protection for key downstream processes such as MBR, UV disinfection, and membrane filtration systems, enhancing overall treatment efficiency and extending service life of process equipment.
Working Principle
Screening begins as process water enters the unit laterally and distributes evenly inside the revolving drum basket. Wastewater permeates the fine screening surface with 0.5–6 mm gaps, leaving solids retained internally. The combination of internal hydraulic flow and drum rotation elevates the captured materials to the cleaning zone. Filtered effluent or clean water is sprayed through dedicated nozzles to dislodge solids into a central collection trough, which is then evacuated by a screw conveyor or equivalent discharge system. The polished filtrate is discharged through the open outlet end of the drum.

Key Design & Performance Features
*Compact, Space-Saving Design: The entire unit is installed directly within the channel, requiring minimal civil works and no additional footprint outside the channel. This makes it ideal for plant upgrades or locations with severe space limitations.
*Superior Fine Screening Efficiency: With screen apertures as fine as 0.5 mm, it achieves high removal rates of fine solids, hairs, fibers, and other small debris that traditional bar screens miss, significantly improving downstream process performance.
*Gentle Yet Effective Cleaning: The internally fed design and pressurized spray wash ensure thorough cleaning of the screen panels without aggressive brushing, reducing wear and tear and preventing blinding for consistent flow.
*Low Hydraulic Head Loss: The optimized flow path and large screening surface area result in very low head loss through the unit, saving energy on upstream pumping.
*Robust & Corrosion-Resistant Construction: Key components like the drum screen panels, main shaft, and collection trough are manufactured from high-grade stainless steel (e.g., SS304, SS316) for maximum durability in corrosive wastewater environments.
*Fully Automated & Intelligent Operation: Features a programmable logic controller (PLC) for fully automatic operation. It can integrate with plant-wide control systems and includes alarms for high differential pressure, ensuring reliable, hands-off performance.
Applications
*Municipal Wastewater Treatment: Delivers reliable fine screening as a front‑end process for MBR, UV disinfection, and tertiary filtration systems.
*Industrial Process Protection: Provides effective pretreatment in food, pulp and paper, and textile industries to capture fibers and particulates.
*Combined Sewer Overflow Control: Removes fine contaminants from CSO and stormwater to reduce environmental impact.
*Water Reuse & Recycling: Performs critical pre-filtration to support the production of high-grade reusable water.
