Integrated Aerated Grit Chamber | High-Efficiency Grit Removal Complete Set for Wastewater Pretreatment
Brief Description
Modular factory-prefabricated aerated grit chamber integrating rotary drum screening, aeration scrubbing, hydraulic cyclone, gravity sedimentation and grit-water separation. Achieves ≥95% removal efficiency for grit particles over 0.2 mm. Ideal for municipal wastewater plants and water pretreatment, cuts site construction work and supports automatic unattended operation.
Product Overview
Traditional concrete-built grit chambers suffer from large footprint, low fine-grit capture rate, long construction cycle and high maintenance workload. Our integrated aerated grit chamber shifts from on-site civil construction to factory prefabricated equipment manufacturing. All core assemblies are pre-assembled and tested in-house before delivery. This all-in-one pretreatment unit solves typical pain points of conventional grit tanks. It reduces land occupation by more than 60%, delivers stable grit-removal performance, and fits new-build plants as well as existing facility upgrading. Without chemical dosing, physical-based separation protects downstream pumps, pipes and biochemical processes from abrasion and clogging.

Working Principle
The unit completes wastewater pretreatment via five sequential physical procedures without chemical agents:
1.Pretreatment screen separation: Rotary drum screen intercepts large debris, fibrous substances and floating pollutants to protect subsequent processing sections.
2.Aeration scrubbing: Roots blower drives tubular aeration system to generate turbulent flow. Adhesive organic matter attached on grit surface is stripped off to lower organic content in settled grit.
3.Hydraulic cyclone separation: Tangential inflow plus aeration-driven turbulence builds stable spiral vortex field. High-density grit particles gain centrifugal force and drift toward tank wall for pre-concentration.
4.Gravity sedimentation: Grit particles settle under gravity for preliminary solid-liquid enrichment.
5.Mechanical grit-water separation: Bottom screw conveyor collects grit-water mixture; inclined lifting screw drains water to get dewatered grit. Filtrate flows back to upstream process for recycling. Dewatered grit can be transported out for disposal or resource reuse.
Key Design & Performance Features
1.High grit-removal performance: ≥95% removal for grit >0.2 mm; organic content in settled grit below 10%, reduces load for downstream biochemical system.
2.Modular factory prefabrication: Core components assembled and tested in workshop; minimise on-site civil work.
3.Physical-only treatment: No chemical additive, environment-friendly pretreatment solution.
4.Complete set integration: Combines screening, aeration, sedimentation, grit conveying and intelligent control within one unit.
5.Reliable material options: Carbon steel anti-corrosion or stainless steel options, long service life over 20 years.
Applications
1.Municipal wastewater treatment plants (new construction & capacity-increase retrofitting).
2.Industrial park wastewater stations.
3.Sponge city initial rainwater pretreatment.
4.Black-odour water emergency treatment.
