Fiber Disc Filter for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade & Retrofit
Brief Description
The fiber disc filter is advanced tertiary treatment equipment for municipal sewage, effectively reducing SS to meet the GB 18918-2002 Class 1-A discharge standard. It is suitable for wastewater plant retrofitting as a replacement for traditional sand filters, featuring continuous online backwash without shutdown.
Product Overview
This fiber disc filter (also known as a rotary disc fiber filter) uses modified fiber-woven filter cloth as the filter medium. It is widely used for advanced treatment of secondary effluent in municipal wastewater plants. Replacing conventional sand filtration, it improves effluent quality while reducing footprint and energy consumption. The complete set consists of a central rotary drum, filter discs, rotary sealing unit, suction backwash device, and automatic electric control system, enabling continuous filtration during online backwashing.

Working Principle
Raw water flows into the tank through a steady-flow weir and contacts both sides of the fiber filter cloth on the submerged discs. Water passes through the <10μm fiber cloth under gravity; purified water flows into the central hollow rotary drum and discharges. As impurities accumulate on the filter cloth, the tank water level rises to the preset trigger value, activating the negative-pressure suction backwash system. The disc rotates slowly while the suction box removes sludge contaminants from the filter cloth surface. Backwashing runs simultaneously with filtration without system shutdown. Settled sludge at the tank bottom can be discharged via regular sludge suction.
Key Design & Performance Features
1.Stable tertiary filtration performance with modified twill-weave fiber cloth; resists impact, with no fiber shedding, cloth blockage, or damage during backwash.
2.Online continuous backwash — no need to stop the filtration process.
3.Filter cloth fiber height of 13–18mm ensures high flux and easy contaminant release, extending cloth service life.
4.Polyurethane wear-resistant sealing ring for the underwater rotary joint, convenient for replacement and maintenance.
5.Single fan-shaped filter screen can be disassembled independently for repair.
Applications
1.Municipal wastewater plant upgrading and retrofitting for Class 1-A effluent.
2.Deep polishing of secondary sedimentation tank effluent.
3.Urban sewage tertiary treatment projects.
