Continuous Chain Scraper System for Efficient Sludge Removal in Water Treatment Plants
Brief Description
The continuous chain scraper system is designed for reliable sludge removal in water and wastewater treatment plants. Its circulating chain mechanism and lightweight scraper flights support continuous operation, low energy consumption, and convenient maintenance in sedimentation and sludge settling tanks.
Product Overview
The continuous chain scraper system is used to collect settled sludge from the bottom of sedimentation tanks in municipal water supply and wastewater treatment facilities.
Powered by a reduction gearbox, the system drives a series of scraper flights along a circulating chain path. The flights continuously move accumulated sludge toward the designated discharge area, helping maintain efficient solids collection during the treatment process.
The non-metallic chain and scraper components provide a lightweight equipment configuration. With the drive unit installed on the platform above the tank, operators can conveniently access the drive mechanism for inspection and routine maintenance.
Designed for continuous sludge collection, this system offers a practical solution for treatment facilities seeking a simplified mechanical arrangement and reduced operating energy requirements.

Working Principle
The system operates through a chain circulation mechanism driven by a reduction gearbox. Power is transmitted to the chains, causing the attached scraper flights to move continuously along a predetermined path.
As the flights travel along the tank bottom, they push settled sludge toward the collection point. The collected sludge is then discharged through the designated sludge discharge channel or pumping system.
The continuous movement of the scraper flights enables ongoing sludge collection without frequent changes in travel direction, supporting stable operation throughout the sedimentation process.
