Product Description

Wastewater Sedimentation Tank Sludge Scraper for Reliable Bottom Sludge Collection

Brief Description

The wastewater sedimentation tank sludge scraper is designed to collect and remove settled solids from treatment tanks. Its chain-driven scraper flights transport sludge toward the discharge area, helping improve sludge collection efficiency in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems.

Product Overview

The wastewater sedimentation tank sludge scraper is a mechanical system designed for removing settled solids during water and wastewater treatment.

As suspended solids settle at the bottom of a sedimentation tank, the chain-driven scraper flights continuously move the accumulated sludge toward a designated collection point. A reduction gearbox powers the circulating chains, providing a consistent scraping movement along the tank bottom.

The system features a simple mechanical arrangement, lightweight scraper components, and an above-tank drive installation. These design characteristics support convenient maintenance and low-energy operation.

Depending on the equipment configuration, the scraper can also assist with surface scum collection, providing additional solids removal functionality for compatible treatment tanks.

Working Principle

During operation, the reduction gearbox drives the chain mechanism, which carries the scraper flights along a continuous circulation path.

The scraper flights move along the tank bottom, pushing settled sludge toward the sludge collection zone. The sludge is subsequently removed through the designated discharge channel or sludge pumping system.

Where the equipment includes a compatible surface collection arrangement, floating scum and debris can also be directed toward the designated collection point near the tank outlet.

By continuously removing settled solids, the system helps support stable sedimentation and the overall operation of the wastewater treatment process.

Key Design & Performance Features

1. Effective Bottom Sludge Collection

The chain-driven scraper flights move settled solids toward the designated discharge area for removal.

2. Continuous Mechanical Scraping

The circulating chain system supports continuous sludge collection without frequent reversing operations.

3. Non-Metallic Scraper Design

Lightweight non-metallic components help reduce mechanical loading and support practical operation.

4. Flexible Treatment Applications

Suitable for compatible sedimentation tanks used in municipal water supply and wastewater treatment processes.

5. Optional Scum Collection Function

The equipment can support surface scum removal when the tank layout and scraper configuration provide this function.

6. Convenient Installation and Maintenance

The above-tank drive arrangement provides access to the drive system for inspection, servicing, and electrical connections.

Applications

1. Municipal wastewater treatment plants

2. Industrial wastewater treatment facilities

3. Primary sedimentation tanks

4. Secondary sedimentation tanks, where compatible with the equipment design

5. Sludge settling tanks
