Rotary Fiber Disc Filter Small Footprint Low Civil Construction Cost for Water Polishing
Brief Description
Rotary fiber disc filter maximizes effective filtering area with vertical disc layout, greatly reduce civil work footprint. Total project cost saves more than 30% compared with sand filter, low head loss even can work without water lifting pump.
Product Overview
Rotary disc fiber filter adopts vertical arranged filter discs. Multiple disc surfaces serve as effective filtering area within limited tank plane space. Compact tank structure cuts civil construction and installation expense. It is an economical substitute for traditional sand filter for water deep filtration. Full set includes filter discs, central drum, suction backwash assembly and PLC automatic control cabinet.

Working Principle
Influent enters the filter tank by gravity. Water penetrates the submerged fiber filter cloth on rotary discs, and suspended solids are intercepted on the outer surface of the filter cloth. Treated water flows into the central rotary drum and discharges. As pollutants accumulate, the liquid level rises to the backwash setpoint. A negative-pressure suction device cleans the rotating filter disc surface online. Filtration can continue during backwashing. Bottom sediment sludge can be pumped out periodically.
Key Design & Performance Features
1.Vertical disc layout: increases effective filter area within limited floor space.
2.Low internal head loss of only 0.2–0.3m; optional operation without water lifting.
3.Compact tank body and simple structure; overall project investment saved ≥30% compared with sand filter systems.
4.Backwash water consumption is only 1/2–1/3 of that of traditional sand filters.
5.Modular design for convenient on-site installation and shorter construction period.
Applications
1.Projects with limited installation land area.
2.New-build and retrofit sewage deep treatment projects requiring cost efficiency.
3.Circulating water side-stream filtration and industrial process water preparation.
