Brief Description
PD‑Series Belt Conveyor is a continuous conveying unit engineered specifically for wastewater treatment conditions. Using an endless conveyor belt as both load‑bearing and traction member, it operates via friction transmission between drive pulley and belt. It transports screenings, grit and dewatered sludge steadily and continuously from loading end to discharge end. Optimized for wet sludge handling, it features anti‑leakage and anti‑spillage performance, large throughput and flexible layout for humid and corrosive wastewater environments.

Within wastewater treatment workflows, PD‑Series Belt Conveyors are purpose‑built to match discharge outlets of bar screens, vortex grit chambers, plate‑and‑frame / belt filter presses, for transfer, stockpiling and truck‑loading of screenings, grit and dewatered sludge. A full range of specifications is available: short‑size units of several meters serve for in‑workshop process connection, while long‑distance or inclined versions can be fully customized. Belt width, belt speed, belt material and drive assembly can be selected according to sludge moisture content, slag output and site constraints. Working Principle
1.Loading
Screenings and sludge from sewage facilities drop onto the loading end from discharge outlets of bar screens and filter presses. Guided by the material‑guide chute, materials are centralized at the centre of the conveyor belt to prevent material deviation, sludge spillage and sewage dripping which causes secondary site contamination.
2.Conveying
The conveyor belt forms an endless closed loop wrapped around the head drive pulley and tail bend pulley. The tensioning device applies appropriate pre‑tension to the belt. The motor drives the drive pulley through the reducer. Driven by friction between pulley and belt inner surface, the whole belt runs cyclically. The carrying section is supported by trough or flat idler sets, while return section is supported by return idlers. Screenings and sludge travel continuously toward the discharge end.
3.Discharging
When sludge and screenings reach the head pulley, they are discharged under inertia and gravity through the head hopper into sludge bins or transport vehicles. For intermediate discharge along the line, a plough discharger or tripper car can be fitted.

Fitted with head cleaners and return‑run cleaners to remove sticky sludge residues on belt surface. Grooved pulley lagging is adopted for humid conditions to avoid slip‑page. Material‑guide chute minimizes sludge splashing and dripping for cleaner working site.
3.Corrosion‑resistant for Humid Environment
Complete unit can receive enhanced anti‑corrosion treatment; 304 stainless‑steel construction is optional for heavy‑corrosion scenarios. Wear‑resistant, hydrolysis‑resistant belt and anti‑corrosion idlers resist moisture and corrosive media in wastewater plants.
4.Comprehensive Safety Protection
Equipped with pull‑rope switches and belt‑misalignment switches. Backstops are optional for inclined installation to prevent reverse running. Supports continuous or intermittent operation to match wastewater slag‑discharge cycles.
5.Cost‑effective & Easy Maintenance
High interchangeability of spare parts. The tensioning device compensates belt elongation during operation, simplifying on‑site inspection and component replacement to lower operational cost.
