Traveling Bridge Sludge Scraper & Suction Collector with Anti Sludge Resuspension for Rectangular Sedimentation Tank
Brief Description
Traveling Bridge Sludge Scraper and Traveling Bridge Sludge Suction Collector are two independent sets of wastewater treatment equipment, widely adopted for sludge and scum removal in rectangular horizontal flow sedimentation tanks. Two types can be selected separately according to site conditions: the scraper version is designed for sludge and scum cleaning in primary sedimentation tanks and grit chambers, whereas the suction version enables continuous sludge extraction for secondary clarifiers and water treatment plant sedimentation tanks, with customizable scum skimming attachments available.
Product Overview
This series covers two independently operated Traveling Bridge sludge removal units, optimized for rectangular horizontal flow tank structures and NOT suitable for standard circular radial sedimentation tanks. Each model operates independently; customers can select one single unit based on treatment requirements, and no mandatory package combination is required.
1. Traveling Bridge Sludge Scraper
It is primarily used for horizontal flow primary sedimentation tanks and grit chambers. The unit travels against water flow to gather settled sludge and grit, and floating scum is collected and discharged along the flow direction. The scraping rake automatically lifts during the return stroke to prevent disturbance of settled sludge, achieving continuous cyclic removal of sludge and scum.
2. Traveling Bridge Sludge Suction Collector
Suitable for rectangular secondary clarifiers of municipal wastewater plants and horizontal flow sedimentation tanks of waterworks. It adopts stable siphon or pump suction sludge discharge for continuous extraction of tank bottom sludge. Optional oil and scum skimming assemblies can be equipped for comprehensive removal of floating surface residues.

Note: Traveling Bridge Sludge Scraper and Traveling Bridge Sludge Suction Collector are standard separate models. The integrated scraping & suction combined version belongs to customized non-standard equipment.
Working Principle
1. Traveling Bridge Sludge Scraper
The equipment consists of traveling bridge, drive system, track and wheel assembly, winch lifting unit, electric actuator scum rake, scraping rake and safety guardrail system. During forward travel, the rake descends to push sludge and scum towards discharge hoppers. On the return stroke, the whole rake frame is lifted to avoid resuspending settled sludge. The bottom scraping rake is lifted and lowered by winch, while the scum rake is controlled separately via electric actuator to guarantee thorough cleaning performance.
2. Traveling Bridge Sludge Suction Collector
Built upon mobile traveling bridge structure, it provides two practical sludge suction solutions adapting to different civil tank designs. The siphon type suits above-ground rectangular sedimentation tanks, while pump suction version fits semi-underground rectangular tanks. The traveling bridge drives multiple suction pipelines to discharge settled sludge evenly and continuously from tank bottom.

Key Design & Performance Features
1. Two independent types for flexible selection
Scraper type and suction type are fully standalone equipment; single-unit procurement is supported to match different clarifier treatment processes.
2. Anti-sludge resuspension scraping design
Automatic rake lifting during return travel effectively prevents sludge resuspension, stabilizing sedimentation performance and guaranteeing consistent outlet water quality.
3. Dual sludge suction options for wide adaptability
Siphon and pump suction versions optional, compatible with above-ground and semi-underground tank civil structures.
4. Corrosion-resistant durable construction
Thickened carbon steel with epoxy anti-corrosion coating, or full SUS304 / SUS316 stainless steel available, suitable for municipal and diverse industrial wastewater environments.
5. Synchronized bilateral drive for stable running
Dual-side synchronous traveling design prevents deviation and jamming, supporting long-term unattended automatic operation.
6. High flexibility for customized configuration
Optional scum & oil skimming device, PLC automatic control cabinet and remote monitoring system to satisfy personalized project demands.
7. Low operation & maintenance cost
Simplified mechanical structure with fewer wearing parts, convenient routine inspection and lower long-term operational expenditure.
