Rotary Rake Screen – Rainwater Grit Chamber Pre-treatment Bar Screen
Brief Description
Rainwater bar screen is a pre-treatment trash interception equipment installed at the inlet of rainwater pumping stations, interception projects and storage tanks, mounted inside the rainwater channel.
Product Overview
It intercepts floating debris in rainwater such as branches, fallen leaves, plastic bags, weeds and domestic waste, preventing large pollutants from clogging pumps and pipelines, and ensuring the safe and stable operation of rainwater drainage systems. Rainwater features highly variable flow rates, heavy instantaneous pollutant load during rainstorms and intermittent operation. Therefore, rainwater bar screens are designed with priority on high flow capacity.

Working Principle
The motor drives the circular rotation of rake tooth chains. Rake teeth submerge into water to capture floating waste, lift pollutants upward to the top of the equipment. Waste falls into the slag hopper by gravity. The rake teeth rotate downward and re-enter the water for continuous automatic sludge removal. A cleaning brush is fitted at the top to remove sticky residues on rake teeth. It can be automatically controlled by water level difference: the screen starts cleaning when the water level difference before and after the screen reaches the set value. Timed control and local manual control are also available.
