Working Principle

The horizontally installed drum filter intakes untreated water through its open end, with internal water distribution ensuring even coverage across the screening surface. Gravity filtration occurs under low hydraulic head, as water permeates outward through 10–100 micron mesh or wedge wire screens while suspended solids are captured on the inner face. Slow drum rotation elevates the trapped solids above the water level, and a high-pressure spray assembly using filtered water blasts the solids into an internal collection trough at the topmost point; purified filtrate is collected in the outer effluent compartment, and rinsed solids are transported for disposal.
