Product Overview
The Rake-Type Mechanical Bar Screen is a robust, continuously self-cleaning system designed for the reliable removal of coarse solids at municipal and industrial wastewater intake points. Its durable chain-and-rake mechanism ensures uninterrupted, automated operation, providing essential protection for downstream pumps and processes by preventing clogging and damage.
Working Principle
At the core of the system is a series of identical rake teeth, assembled in a parallel, staggered formation to create a heavy-duty, continuous closed-loop cleaning chain. Driven by a dedicated motor and gear reducer, this chain performs a consistent circular motion over guide sprockets, ensuring reliable debris removal.
*Downward Entry & Interception: The rake teeth descend into the channel flow, engaging and intercepting debris (such as rags, plastics, and large solids) against the bar screen surface.
*Upward Lift & Cleaning: The chain lifts the captured solids upward, carrying them above the water line and out of the flow stream.
*Automatic Discharge: At the apex, debris is automatically discharged via a scraper or roller mechanism into a collection hopper or conveyor for disposal.
*Continuous Return: The cleaned rakes then return down the backside to re-enter the flow, enabling true 24/7 continuous operation with minimal manual intervention.
